True Cape Ann-ers at Heart
Growing up in various locations all around Cape Ann (including Rocky Neck in Gloucester, when his parents, Vini & Ann Olivo, owned the "Outrigger" Restaurant), Cape Ann SUP owner, Dominic Olivo, has always had an affinity for the water. Surfing, swimming, paddling, boating, etc. He started his love for surfing started at Cinnamon Rainbows in Hampton, NH. Since 2010, has grown Cape Ann SUP from one truck with 6 paddleboards parked on Pavilion Beach in 2010 to a four-location paddleboard operation. His passion for the paddleboading + surfing, coupled with his passion to deliver excellent service + hire a team that aligns with his beliefs is what makes Cape Ann SUP special.
If you see us around town, we're probably bumping tunes with a smile on the way to deliver a set of boards or out on the water teaching kids and adults alike.
Meet the Team
Anneliese is the "other-half" of Cape Ann SUP. She teaches the SUP Yoga classes, helps out with kids surf night and curates the inventory for the shop. Dom and Anneliese have pretty much been together since the good old days of Essex Elementary. They basically work with the same brain to make Cape Ann SUP successful.
Anneliese's "real" job is at Stout Heart, a full-service advertising and marketing agency based out of Portsmouth, NH.
In her “Free Time” she is usually surfing or dreaming of decorating her home.
Gray has been with us since the spring of 2015. He and Dom met while Dom was teaching a paddleboard class at Gordon College… the rest is history. He has an extensive background in outdoor education, camp programs and on-water training. He is a core member of our team and in 2019 he came on board full time as our Operations Manager.
In his free time you can find him in the water, climbing or exploring Cape Ann with his wife, Victoria, and their adorable little girls Cosette and Everest.
Or, Mr. Clark, as many know him, has been with Cape Ann SUP for 2 years now after moving back to MA from Colorado where he managed a ski/spot retailer location. At Cape Ann SUP, he specializes in running the on-water locations although you can catch him in the Board Barn periodically. If and when you meet Kyle, you'll know why we hired him. He just might be the nicest guy on the planet. He’s one of our best managers.
As his "real job" Kyle teaches at Landmark School in Beverly Farms. We're hoping he keeps doing that so that he can keep coming back to us in the summer.
Nicole has been in the SUP world since 2010. The has taught lessons, run camps, surfed and worked on the retail side of the business. She has been with Cape Ann SUP for a number of years now and knows the ins-and-outs of the company like the back of her hand. She primarily manages the board barn but a few days a week you can catch her working on the water. Her knowledge, patience and kindness are what make her the perfect Cape Ann SUP Team member.
As her "real job" Nicole works at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA but, if we’re lucky, she still spends a few days a summer with us.
Jake first asked to work for Cape Ann SUP in 2010 when he was 11 years old. He and his family true locals of our Pavilion Beach location. When Jake turned 17 he informed Dom that he was going to get his lifeguard certification and that summer he was a guide. Jake is fantastic on the water. He is constantly learning and never misses an opportunity to get out for a paddle, no matter how long or short. He has been at Cape Ann SUP for a few years now and we couldn't be happier.
Jake’s “real job” is in bio tech sales but we’re lucky enough that he still wants to escape Corporate America with us a few days a week.
Don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're always available by phone or email...well, when we're not on the water that is.
The barn is open year-round so stop on by to see what we've got or just to say hi!
